I’ve been reading The Happiness Project and in an effort to start my own, I’ve decided to start my own Secrets of Adulthood list. This is JUST a start and some are stolen taken from Ms. Rubin’s book and I suspect as I continue on they might change.
- Always bring a bottle of water (great for thirsty kid and mom, cooling down radiators, rinsing messy hands, etc.)
- You can’t make someone love you no matter how much you love them
- Make your intentions/needs clear
- It’s okay to ask for help – but don’t expect it to be given freely *^
- Do good, feel good *
- You don’t have to be good at everything *
- Don’t bluff unless you have a working plan B
- Appreciation is often a one-way street — do things because they give YOU satisfaction
- Just because you are striving to be a better person doesn’t mean anyone else is or will appreciate the fact that you are
- The last piece of chocolate is always the sweetest
- Dead ends are just that
