My Secrets of Adulthood

I’ve been reading The Happiness Project and in an effort to start my own, I’ve decided to start my own Secrets of Adulthood list.  This is JUST a start and some are stolen taken from  Ms. Rubin’s book and I suspect as I continue on they might change.

  1. Always bring a bottle of water (great for thirsty kid and mom, cooling down radiators, rinsing messy hands, etc.)
  2. You can’t make someone love you no matter how much you love them
  3. Make your intentions/needs clear
  4. It’s okay to ask for help  – but don’t expect it to be given freely *^
  5. Do good, feel good *
  6. You don’t have to be good at everything *
  7. Don’t bluff unless you have a working plan B
  8. Appreciation is often a one-way street — do things because they give YOU satisfaction
  9. Just because you are striving to be a better person doesn’t mean anyone else is or will appreciate the fact that you are
  10. The last piece of chocolate is always the sweetest
  11. Dead ends are just that
* these are secrets Ms. Rubin stated in her list
^ I’ve amended these to fit my experience
