So after this picture, we placed a board in the track to keep him out of the shower with the litter in it. However, he’s really smart and figured out that he can just shake the doors really hard and get the board to fall out. Now we’re devising a new plan that will keep him out of that bathroom entirely but allow the cats to still get to their bathroom!
Wish us luck!

Very nice header and title. Glad I stumbled upon your site:)
Oh, good luck! We had to move our litter boxes to a place that the cat could get to more easily but still be gated off from the toddler. We are on scenario #2 of my list of things to try. Dare I say that so far it seems to be working?
I’ll call and we can discuss our strategies!
Ewwy little monkey! I know what one of his first chores will be – litter box duty! I can’t wait for the day to start chores
We put the cat litter in a closet and then installed a kitty door in the closet door. The closet stays closed but kitty can get in and out. You can also babyproof the door to prevent your child from being able to open it.
Mama (Stacy) — that’s a great idea but DH doesn’t want to put in the kitty door. If it gets bad enough, maybe I’ll figure out how to do it myself.
