So I’ve finally found a goal that will hopefully get me to workout more often. A pair of yoga shorts. Now, I know this sounds strange but these yoga shorts require you to have a nice butt. Or rather, you SHOULD have a nice butt in them if you are going to wear them outside of your house. They aren’t cheap either which is why they will be my REWARD when I get the appropriate butt size to put into them.
Here are the steps I have taken to get to this goal. DH and I have signed up for the fitness center that our town provides (isn’t that nice?). This fitness center is MUCH nicer than commercial ones which surprised me (I guess my town tax is going to good use — although you still have to pay a membership as well). Plus, it has an indoor pool that’s not too busy so I won’t feel like a dork swimming it in — I’m not that strong a swimmer.
Because this fitness center has a nice child care center (the one at the local gym … well, I just wasn’t comfortable with it), I will be able to drop Monkey off for 30-60 minutes to go onto the elliptical machines, lift weights, do a group fitness class or swim! And this means, that for motivation reasons, DH and I can go together. I figure if I can do one of the aforementioned activities for 2-3 times a week for at least 30 minutes, I will be at the very least more fit and not out of breath when carrying Monkey up a flight of stairs.
The second part of this plan is to continue going to yoga — at least once a week, ideally twice. This is the expensive part of the plan unfortunately. However, for me, the time spent on the elliptical machine or weight lifting, etc. is all to make going to yoga more enjoyable. It seems yoga is the only thing I can really get excited about (when I’m in shape that is).
So this is the plan for a new butt and hopefully some new yoga shorts to put it in! Wish me luck!
How’d you get the pic of my butt on your blog? lol
Nice shorts
.
Best of luck kiddo!! I know you can do it. Hey you want to feel good about yourself….you should see my butt : )
So far no response on the hidden SNL quote …
I don’t watch SNL anymore, usually sleeping. I’m so boring. But, or butt, wanted to wish you luck on getting your booty in shape for those shorts! You probably don’t have as far to go as you think. Being healthy is a great gift to give yourself and your child. You want to be around for them and energetic. Exercise always makes me feel better.
i’m sorry, i haven’t been checking blogs lately! i got the SNL quote – that is probably my all-time favorite skit. “hey, you! I know you, I know you—no, you’re not mad at him.” IMO the only gem from the early 80s when the show was horrible.
good luck on reaching your goal!
goofydaddy — YAY! It’s pretty obscure but I’m glad you got it!
everyone else — thanks for the luck! I’ll need it!
That sounds like a great plan! Good luck getting that butt into shape.
